IVTIP is an interactive forum

of European companies with a genuine and active interest in in vitro testing (replacement) for regulatory/safety/efficiency testing or for early decision-making in compound discovery and development. IVTIP actively contributes to promoting the dissemination of progress, knowledge and transfer of state-of-the-art technologies related to the 3Rs: replacing, reducing and refining animal testing.

IVTIP is also supportive of applying opportunities resulting in the reduction of the number of animals and/or allowing for refinement of exisiting animal experiments.

In addition, IVTIP actively endorses a 4th R: responsibility towards animals as well as towards the growing demand by society for better ways of assuring safety.

IVTIP focuses

on (i) the implementation of the 4Rs principles by industry, and (ii) the acceptance of emerging alternative methods by the regulatory authorities. By actively interacting with the European commission (EC) and the European Partnership for Alternative Animal Testing (EPAA), IVTIP primarily focuses on European interests, however monitors world wide research activities and industrial needs, realizing that a global approach is required for getting endorsement of emerging testing methods.

Biovator is a member of IVTIP

Biovator and IVTIP share the same goals and such membership offers broad interactive opportunities from an industrial collaborative perspective. Our objective is to work closely with the industry, regulators and politicians to make sure those alternative technologies can become available meeting industry demands and political directives.
Stan Mikulowski, CEO of Biovator became Board Director of IVTIP as of May 2010.
